Tampa, Fort Myers, and Orlando sales staff members are listed below:
James H. Carroll, Jr., P.E., Chairman, has over 50 years of experience in the HVAC industry with a recognized successful track record in sales, management, and industry service. He is a graduate of Auburn University and became a Registered Professional Engineer in Alabama (Reg. #6859) in 1966. His service to our industry and the community includes the following: a Senior Member of the Florida Engineering Society, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers). He served ASHRAE as Regional Vice Chairman in 1982; and, on the Society level, he served three years as a member of the Society Board of Directors, Regions Council, Member Council, Research Promotion Committee, and Regional Chairman from 1983 through 1986. He is past president of the Florida West Coast Chapter of ASHRAE. During “Engineer’s Week” in 2004 he received the “Engineer of the Year”: award from the Florida West Coast Chapter of ASHRAE. He received the “Distinguished Auburn Engineer” Award in 2006 from the Auburn Alumni Engineering Council and in 2013 he was elected to the State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame.
Philip R. Carroll, President and a Director, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Auburn University in March, 1982. He holds a Florida State Certified Mechanical Contractor License (CMC045854). Philip has established a 24-year track record as a successful sales engineer and in management as a corporate officer. Philip is an active member of the local chapter of ASHRAE. He is a former president of Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, a former member of the Board of Directors of South Trust Bank (now Wachovia Bank) and former member of the Board of Trustees of Tampa General Hospital Foundation. He is currently on the Board of Directors at Platinum Bank and the Board of Directors at the Tampa Yacht & Country Club. Philip holds memberships in numerous community organizations.
David B. Carroll, Orlando Sales Engineer, joined our sales group in September 2012.  He is a graduate of Auburn University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Operations Management.  Since graduating in 1983, David has established a successful 30 year track record as a sales engineer in the HVAC industry.  For the past 16 years, he owned and operated his own HVAC manufacturer’s representative firm in the Panhandle of Florida.
Dwight Abel, Orlando Sales Manager, joined us in July 2014. Dwight joins us with 28 years of experience in the HVAC industry in the Central Florida marketplace. Prior to joining our staff, Dwight was an outstanding Sales Engineer and Sales Manager for a major HVAC manufacturer. Dwight received his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University in 1986.
Mark Cartmell, Aftermarket Parts Sales Manager for Tampa, Fort Myers, and Orlando, has over 26 years of experience in the HVAC industry including both equipment and wholesale parts, sales and distribution. Before joining Carroll Air Systems in 1994, Mark was involved in inside sales and later served as Parts Manager for Carrier Corporation locally. Mark served in the Air Force for four years active duty and with the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard at MacDill Air Force Base for 20 years.
Ken Cash, Orlando Sales Engineer, previously worked in our service department part-time when he was attending high school. He obtained his B.S. in Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Florida in 1985. He worked as a manufacturer’s representative with a company in the Miami area for three years prior to becoming a sales engineer with Carroll Air Systems in 1988. He has 21 years of experience in HVAC engineering sales.
Jason Cuesta, Tampa Inside Sales Engineer, earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida in December 2015 and joined our team in January 2016. Jason will be completing a major HVAC manufacturer’s graduate engineering training program this summer. Jason has already proven to be an important member of our team.
Debie Horsey, Tampa Sales Engineer, joined our organization in June of 2002. Debie has 20 years experience in the HVAC industry. She received her B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of South Florida in 1995 and completed a graduate engineering training program with her previous employer. Debie has served for over 12 years on the ASHRAE Board of Directors of the local chapter, until her presidency in 2008-2009, and now holds the Refrigeration Chair position at the Regional level.  Debie has a very successful performance record in both engineering applications and assigned account sales.
Andrew Kee, Fort Myers Sales Manager, joined our professional sales team in February 2003 with over 12 years highly successful engineering and field sales experience. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University in 1991 and completed a major HVAC manufacturer’s graduate engineering training program. His achievements with that HVAC manufacturer include a “National Top Ten” award and other significant performance awards six years running. As a sales engineer professional, he can provide expert HVAC equipment solutions, support and service for engineers and customers in the southwest Florida area.
Paul Kellar, Tampa Senior Sales Engineer, has over 26 years experience in our Tampa office. He holds a B.A. Degree in Business Finance from the University of South Florida. He previously worked in air conditioning service in Key West where his father was Director of Monroe County School Board Maintenance. Since becoming an associate in 1980, Paul has completed several manufacturers air conditioning and engineering sales training programs.
Kevin Kelly, Orlando Sales Engineer, joined us in August 2015. Kevin has over 17 years experience in HVAC design and engineering. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth College of Technology in 1997. Kevin is a great asset to our team.
Sondra Kennett, Orlando Inside Sales Engineer, joined us in April 2016. Sondra comes to us with several years experience in HVAC design and engineering. She received her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Science in Education Media and Design Technology from Full Sail University.
Mark Leaf, Tampa Inside Sales Support, joined our organization in April 2004. He had 18 years experience in CAD including production, automation, and CAD management. Prior to joining Carroll Air Systems, Mark was CAD manager for TECO (BGA Division) overseeing AutoCAD operations in eight offices in Florida. In addition to supervising our CAD operation, Mark is part of our inside sales support team.
Robert Mulholland, Tampa Senior Inside Sales Engineer, joined us in 1996. He is a 1993 graduate of the University of South Florida with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He received his E.I.T. certificate from the State of Florida, which will allow him to achieve a Professional Engineering license in the future.
Michele Mulligan, Michele came to us in July 2011 as our Service/Parts/Warranty Admin specialist, with several years experience in the HVAC industry and a vast understanding of the process from sales to service.  Michele has brought a great attitude and skill set to Carroll Air Systems, Inc. Customer service is one of her strong points and Michele is a welcome addition to our team. If you have questions concerning warranty parts, parts sales or would like to coordinate a service call, Michele will be happy to help you.
Michael Nies, Tampa Sales Engineer, joined our staff in August 2010. Michael has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University and 4 years of experience in consulting on commercial HVAC systems for a major manufacturer. Michael has completed a Graduate Training Program for the HVAC industry and is an active associate of ASHRAE. Michael relocated to Tampa from Jacksonville, but grew up in Maryland, where most of his family still resides. He is now looking forward to extending some roots in the Tampa Bay area.
Tyler Owens, joined our Tampa staff in May 2013. Tyler interned with us while attending the University of Florida. Tyler graduated in 2013 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Tyler also has completed a major HVAC manufacturer’s graduate engineering training program. His knowledge and expertise have already made him an important member of the Carroll Air team.
Chuck Passman P.E., CEM, LEED AP BD+C, joined our staff in August 2007. Chuck has been an Energy Engineer since 1988. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from LSU and a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCF. Chuck is a Certified Green Building Engineer. He is a LEED AP BD+C and published a Study Guide for the LEED AP BD+C exam. Chuck is the LEED Coordinator for Carroll Air Systems, Inc. in addition to duties as an Energy Engineer.
Thomas Peeples, P.E., joined our team in April 2017 as Director of Sales. Tom brings a strong HVAC equipment sales and marketing background that will support all Sales Engineers in our company. Tom earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. Tom started his HVAC career with Trane as a Sales Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1993, Tom moved into HVAC equipment manufacturing as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Environmental Technologies, Inc. and then, through acquisition, Johnson Controls, Inc. (ETI) for over 19 years. He held a similar position with CES Group for 2 years. Tom has been Principal of Peeples Business Development, LLC since February 2015, consulting with HVAC equipment manufacturers. Tom’s HVAC equipment sales, manufacturing and engineering experience will be an asset to our sales team, the manufacturers we represent, and our customers.
Guy Scott, Outside Aftermarket Sales Representative, has a B.S. Degree in Management from Tarkio College in Tarkio, MO. Guy joined our staff in October 2016, after relocating from Minneapolis, MN, where he worked for several companies as an Aftermarket Account Representative and Product Line/Sales Manager. Guy’s experience and HVAC knowledge will prove to be a valuable asset to our organization.
Matt Szczepaniec, Orlando Sales Engineer, has a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Matt joined our staff in December 2006, previously working for FPL as a Design Mechanical Engineer. Matt’s HVAC knowledge has made him an integral part of our Orlando team.
Laura Taylor, Orlando Inside Sales Support, joined our staff in August 1998. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida. Laura came to us from South Carolina with several years of customer relations experience. Her current duties include inside sales support for four salesmen and liaison for customer needs.
Robert Teetsel, Orlando Sales Engineer, has a B.S. Degree in Business from Columbia College. He joined our company in May 2017. Prior to joining Carroll Air Systems, Inc., Robert was a National Account Manager for Daikin Applied in the Orlando, FL area. Robert’s experience and HVAC knowledge will prove to be valuable assets to our organization.
Bruce Tindle, Orlando Sales Engineer, has a B.S. Degree in Marketing from Florida State University and joined our company in 1991. He had a successful 19-year history in sales and marketing management. He previously held the positions of President and Director of Sales and Marketing, working with general contractors and mechanical contractors for a Central Florida development corporation.
Stuart Waag, P.E., Tampa Sales Engineer, earned his B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida in 2006. He also received a Masters of Business Administration degree in 2010 from the University of Central Florida. Prior to joining our Tampa team in February 2013, Stuart worked for various companies in the Orlando, FL area as a Mechanical HVAC and Design Engineer. Stuart holds a State of Florida Professional Engineer license. Stuart’s experience and HVAC knowledge will prove to be a valuable asset to our organization.
Support Staff
Betty M. Carroll, Vice President, Secretary and a Director, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of South Florida and her Master’s Degree from the University of Tampa. She serves as a Financial Manager for accounting, banking, payroll and commission allocations.
Linda Bloodsworth, Orlando office, joined our staff in September 2010. She is a cheerful greeter for incoming calls and assists in customer service and is a sales team performer.
Adrienne Alford, Tampa Clerical Office Manager, joined our company in September 2000. Adrienne is responsible for overseeing all of the clerical duties in our Tampa office. Adrienne also handles our website as well as our company database. She will be happy to assist you at any time.
Pam Gehan, Pam joined our staff in July, 2006. Pam is a multi-tasked administrative assistant in the Tampa office. She came to us with 15 years of administrative experience. Pam assists Nicole with the daily accounting and banking duties.
Cheryl Gentry, Cheryl joined our staff in May, 2017. Cheryl is our Customer Relations Representative in the Tampa office who will answer your phone call or questions when you are not dialing direct to a particular sales representative or other telephone extension. She came to us with many years of customer service and administrative experience.
Renee Werking, Renee is another of our multi-tasked administrative assistants who has returned on a part-time basis with us. Renee brings extensive experience from her previous years with Carroll Air Systems, and will be our administrative “rover,” filling in for various positions of the support staff.
Nicole Younglove-Williams, Accounts Manager, received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from the University of South Florida and joined our staff full time in July, 1997. Nicole had previously worked part-time for Carroll Air Systems while in school. Nicole is in charge of the daily accounting, banking, execution of lien releases, and calculation and allocation of commissions. Nicole also serves as our liaison for Human Resource questions and solutions.
